Andrew Flintoff will join a Lancashire Academy tour in India in late February as continues his rehabilitation from an ankle operation.

He was to have joined the England Lions tour to India but will instead now go with the a group of the county's academy memebers and some first team players.

The players will attend a batting clinic in India on the tour organised by Lancashire Academy director John Stanworth.

Flintoff last played for England in the World Twenty20 in September and had his fourth ankle operation a month later.

If fit the 30-year-old will then join Lancashire's first-team tour of the UAE as a batsman only the following month.

Flintoff's latest operation ruled him out of the winter tours of Sri Lanka and New Zealand but the England management were hoping he could feature as a batsman with the Lions, who will take part in the first-class Duleep Trophy in India.
