Dilan Markanday is having a medical at Rovers today as they finalise his permanent move from Tottenham Hotspur.
Rovers have agreed a six-figure fee with Spurs attacker Markanday who has 12 goals in 14 Premier League 2 outings.
The deal could rise to around £1m, with a significant sell-on clause, also included in the deal.
Markanday has turned down the offer of a new contract at Spurs and is keen to play regular first-team football.
With his current deal set to expire in the summer, Rovers have pressed ahead with a permanent move for the 20-year-old who is set to become the third signing of the January window.
Tony Mowbray has been key to add to his attacking options in January, with Markanday potentially one of two new arrivals in that area.
Markanday has made one first-team appearance for Tottenham, that coming in the Europa Conference League earlier in this season.
He has starred for their Under-23s side, who face Rovers tonight, and is second top scorer in Premier League 2.
