GOALS from Ade Akinbiyi and Robbie Blake helped Burnley overcome 10-man Coventry to secure back-to-back Championship wins.
Akinbiyi handed the Clarets an early lead as he got on the end of Wade Elliott's excellent right-wing cross to sweep the ball home in the 11th minute.
Blake had the chance to make it 2-0 midway through the half but struck his right-foot shot straight at the goalkeeper.
Coventry got back on level terms through Michael Doyle three minutes later, after Stanislav Varga blocked out Michael Mifsud inside the area.
Brian Jensen was forced into a double save as Burnley struggled to clear the danger, but Doyle thumped the ball into the roof of the net from the second rebound.
The Sky Blues were reduced to 10 men in the 56th minute, when Kevin Kyle picked up his second yellow card. However, his dangerously late sliding tackle on Graham Alexander should have warranted a straight red.
Burnley, who yesterday lost leading scorer Andy Gray to Championship rivals Charlton Athletic, made their extra man count in the 69th minute as Blake finished well inside the area after latching on to Joey Gudjonsson's delivery.
