An Arsenal fan who tried to get into Turf Moor drunk was spared a football banning order at Burnley magistrates.
Engineer David George Jordan, 44, was a season ticket holder and normally took his children to matches, the bench was told.
Sue Campbell, prosecuting, told the court the defendant was not shouting, was not violent, left the ground quietly and co-operated with police.
Jordan, of Upminster, Essex, admitted trying to get into a designated sports ground drunk on January 6.
He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and must pay £60 costs.
