BURNLEY manager Owen Coyle is set to run the rule over a number of trialists as he looks to bolster his squad this week.
The Clarets' squad has been ravaged by injury and suspension in recent weeks and Coyle is aiming to boost the squad in terms of size and quality for the final run in to the season.
Operations manager Brendan Flood has told the Lancashire Telegraph that the club are working on signing three players, with two of them possibly coming to Turf Moor in time for Saturday's trip to Coventry City.
But Coyle has brought in three trialists this week, one of them believed to be a current international striker, and the Clarets boss is aiming to have a look at all three in action tonight.
He said: "We've got three trialists in and they're playing a behind-closed-door game tonight so we'll see from there.
"It's not ideal because we've only got them for a couple of days, and they're playing a game, but it's an opportunity we've got to look at them.
"I'm not going to mention names at this stage but there's definitely two or three players we're looking at."
