I think it would be a hell of a gamble if Mark decided to leave Blackburn for Newcastle, writes ex-Rovers caretaker boss and Newcastle manager Richard Dinnis.
It's one of the most difficult jobs in the country - history will tell you that - and is Mark Hughes really a risk-taker? I'm not so sure.
Whoever goes in there faces a massive job because he will have to shift some players out and bring others in, which takes time, and you don't always get it.
Then you'd also have to do what Kevin Keegan did and play attractive football because that's what the fans demand.
It's not an impossible job but it's certainly a very difficult one.
I personally think they haven't made the right choices when it comes to appointing managers in the past - and I would include myself in that.
