Rovers have agreed a fee with Southampton for striker Adam Armstrong.
Southampton have had interest in Rovers’ star man throughout the summer, a chase which has intensified over the last week following the sale of Danny Ings to Aston Villa.
Tony Mowbray called on interested clubs to ‘pay the price’ for the 24-year-old and the Saints have now reached that limit, with the deal understood to be worth £15m.
Personal terms are not expected to be an issue, but haven’t been agreed, with a medical scheduled for tomorrow as Armstrong’s three years at the club looks set to come to an end.
Southampton have had two previous bids rejected, the first last month in the region of £8m, but they have since upped that and look set to get a deal over the line.
That looks set to bring an end to his three years at Ewood Park, having scored 64 goals in all for the club.
