Burnley boss Owen Coyle praised the performance of loan defender Stanislav Varga in the side's battling cup display against Arsenal.
The Slovakian was thrown straight into the starting line-up, just two days after completing an initial one-month deal from Sunderland.
"He is short of games but he was thrown in there because of the players we had missing," said Coyle. "But that's the way it's been.
"We didn't have the biggest squad in the world to begin with, as we know, and injuries and suspensions have hit us hard.
"But he came in, acquitted himself well, and he'll get better as the month goes the more games he plays."
