Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes refused to blame his injury list for the 4-1 FA Cup defeat against Coventry City.
Hughes, who won the FA Cup four times as a player, was missing Roque Santa Cruz and a number of other players to injury.
However, he said: "That's no excuse and we had enough on the pitch to make more of a game of it.
"Our second-half performance wasn't acceptable."
Meanwhile Coventry City's delighted two-goal hero Michael Mifsud said: "Every one of us played with his heart and gave his best to ensure we got the result.
"Blackburn had their own chances and they were on to us in the second half, but we always threatened on the counter-attack.
"It's always nice to win when everyone plays so well.
"We knew it wasn't going to be easy because Blackburn are a big side.
"They had their own chances and they were on to us in the second half, but we always threatened on the counter-attack."
