BURNLEY had their chances in this FA Cup third round tie but went into the break a goal down against Premier League leaders Arsenal.
The Gunners survived an early scare to take after just nine minutes.
Just moments after Kyle Lafferty had seen his header crash off Jens Lehmann's crossbar, Eduardo ghosted through a static defence to slot the ball beyond Gabor Kiraly.
James O'Connor had to scramble a deflected Gilberto header off the line, Emmanuel Eboue blazed a chance over the bar and Nicklas Bendtner had an overhead kick kept out by Kiraly.
But Burnley responded with Chris McCann and Robbie Blake going close before ending the first-half strongly.
McCann should have taken advantage of an empty net but couldn't keep his shot down.
