Bulgarian striker Valery Domovchiyski is due to start a five-day trial with Rovers tomorrow, and Hughes says the Levski Sofia flyer has a golden opportunity to earn himself a permanent move to the Premier League.

"We've had good reports on him. I haven't seen him first hand, obviously, which is why we are bringing him in," said the Rovers boss.

"But he has scored a lot of goals at the level he is playing at, and we always take the opportunity, if we can, to bring in players and have a look at them first hand.

"He's also a decent age for us and if there's a deal to be made, then we are in a position to do that."

Domovchiyski, 21, has scored 54 goals in 121 games for Levski, including 10 goals in 22 games this season, and reportedly once clocked a time of 9.98 seconds for a 100 metres sprint.

It is thought Levski are looking for a fee in the region of £1.5 million for the Bulgarian Under 21 international, who has also been linked with Sunderland and Borussia Dortmund.
