BURNLEY have revealed they stand by their ticketing policy for tomorrow's FA Cup third round clash with Arsenal.

Non-season ticket holders were required to buy a ticket for a second game on purchasing a ticket for the televised tie.

But, despite the game not being a sell-out at the time of going to press - with the Clarets ticket office set to open at 9am tomorrow for any last-minute sales - the club is standing by its decision for fans to pay for entry to a league game, as well as the cup clash.

A club spokesman said: "Clearly one of the main reasons we unashamedly adopted this policy was to maximise revenue streams in light of the cup draw and after reporting a hefty £4.3million loss for the last financial year.

"The evidence is that the ticketing policy has had a positive, cumulative effect.

"To change the ticketing policy at this late stage would, we feel, be unfair and potentially anger the thousands of fans who have supported the club in this ticketing initiative and bought tickets for a second game."

The club spokesman added that, as a matter of course, ticketing policy would be reviewed in line with club procedures following all-ticket games.
