GAMES against Arsenal will always bring back fond memories for former Clarets hero Peter Noble.

The man affectionately known as Uwe, after the Hamburg star Uwe Seeler who once played at Turf Moor, was part of the Swindon side that beat the Gunners at Wembley in the 1969 League Cup final.

And he got the only goal the last time the Clarets beat Arsenal at Highbury on September 7, 1974.

So when Burnley were drawn out of the hat to face the Premier League leaders, the 63-year-old former Newcastle man admitted he couldn't have been happier.

And, he's hoping for a miracle - that Burnley can find away to beat Arsene Wenger's side in front of the BBC cameras today.

He said: "Games against Arsenal are always special. I remember scoring the winner against them the last time Burnley beat them - I don't remember much else - but it's always great to go to Arsenal and win.

"They always have such fabulous players. Arsenal might have had highs and lows over the years but they always have some very good players and I was delighted when we pulled them out of the hat in the FA Cup.

"This will be a great occasion for the club, the fans and the entire town.

"There'll be a full house on at Turf Moor, the TV cameras are there, the fans will get to see some of the biggest stars in football up close, so Burnley can't lose.

"And a game such as this might tempt one or two fans who don't go to games that often to start going again."

Noble was full of praise for this crop of young Gunners, who have taken the Premier League and Europe by storm so far this season, particularly Spanish maestro Cesc Fabregas.

He added: "Fabregas is a fantastic player. He's a bit of a diver, which I don't like, but Fabregas has everything.

"He's the man who's helping Arsenal play such fantastic football - not even Manchester United can touch them in that respect.

"And what makes him even more amazing is that he's only 20. It's frightening to think how good he could be."

Noble, who claims the remarkable record of scoring 28 out of 28 penalties during his seven-year stint at Turf Moor, believes that Burnley can achieve what only Middlesbrough have achieved so far this season and beat Arsenal.

But the former Burnley favourite believes that Owen Coyle's side need to be brave if they are to pull off a massive Cup shock.

"Burnley need to take the game to Arsenal if we have any chance," Noble said.

"I can't see them playing all their top stars. I know they have a fantastic group of young players, but if he plays the kids, that will give us our best chance.

"There's no way we can sit back and try and contain them because they will eventually break the defence down. he defence has to be strong but Burnley have to give it a go and try and score.

"They've proved against the likes of Watford and West Brom that they can beat the better teams.

"I know they're not as good as Arsenal, but if they can take that same mentality into tomorrow's game, then that will give Burnley their best chance.

"Arsenal have some fan-tastic players, but shocks do happen in the FA Cup, and Burnley must believe they can do it.

"They beat Liverpool at Turf Moor a couple of years ago and if they can pull it off, it would rank as one of the greatest wins in Burnley's history."
