BRENDAN Flood has called on Clarets supporters to turn up the volume and make life uncomfortable for Arsenal.
Blessed with world-class names, the Gunners are overwhelming favourites to win today's mouth-watering FA Cup third round clash at Turf Moor.
But Flood believes Burnley have an outside chance of a stunning upset if they can put the jitter-bugs into Cesc Fabregas, Emmanuel Adebayor and company.
And the club's operational director believes that could happen, if Burnley's fans get under the skin of the Londoners by cranking up the noise.
"I don't suspect too many people will back us to beat Arsenal," said Flood. "It's going to be very, very difficult.
"But you just don't know. Hopefully, we'll have a big crowd and our fans can make it vociferous, so we can make it as uncomfortable as we possibly can for Arsenal's players at Turf Moor.
"I think with a vocal crowd and everybody getting out of bed on the right side, the fans and the players, we can pull off a surprise."
The Clarets enter tomorrow's eagerly-anticipated tie hoping to end a miserable run of form that has seen them go six league games without a win, culminating in an alarming 3-0 defeat at Blackpool on New Year's Day.
Flood readily admits that Owen Coyle's men cannot afford a repeat performance if they are to give Arsenal a realistic run for their money.
"I'm sure if all the lads play to their capabilities, then we will give Arsenal a game," added Flood.
"Blackpool was just one of those one-offs, a bad day at the office, and we know our players can do much better. They've shown that in recent weeks.
"We've got to have all 11 players playing at their absolute best - and it's vital we get an early goal and put Arsenal on the back foot.
"We must think that we can pull off a shock. But that's the beauty about tomorrow's game - everyone's got their opinion about what will happen."
While Flood admits an FA Cup giant-killing tomorrow would represent a massive achievement in Burnley's history, he conceded the club are more concerned with getting their league form back on track.
He added: "If we get on a run of three or four good wins, we will be right up there.
"The play-offs is still our target."
