RIBBLESDALE League leaders Feniscowles came out on top in the clash of the unbeaten sides as they beat Earby to maintain their superb start to the season.
Earby won the toss and put Fensicowles in who struggled to score freely and were grateful to Mo Bhada (33) and Ziyad Bhada (26) whose runs enabled them to set a total of 125 all out.
Star of the bowling was spinner Harry Brindle who took 5-14 off 10 overs.
In reply, Earby were reduced to 30-6, Jake Hargreaves gave them some hope but when he last out for 38 Earby were all out for 93.
There was an incredible clash at Read who tied with Brinscall after both sides finished on 252-9.
Joshua Lavin was the star of the Read innings – scoring a brilliant unbeaten 112 to rescue the innings from 36-7.
Zidane Clarke took the first five wickets to put Brinscall in control before Lavin joined Duncan Bennett at the crease to begin the rescue mission.
The pair put on 88 for the eighth wicket before Bennett fell for 54. Lavin worked with the tail and added 73 for the ninth wicket with Warren Eastham (21) and an unbeaten partnership of 55 for the 10th wicket with Andrew Rushton (15 not out).
Lavin’s unbeaten112 came off 109 deliveries and included six fours and nines sixes. Clarke ended with the excellent figures of 15 overs 7-45.
But the drama did not end there as Brinscall made large in roads into the total; James Mcvitie hit 78 off 53 deliveries while Zane Nirodi (39), Nisal Francisco (31) and Stuart Parker (47) all did their bit.
At one-point Brinscall were 207-3 however, wickets kept falling – including two in the final over – and a single off the last ball of the match secured a tie, Brinscall ending with the exact same score as Read of 252-9. Hammad Azam took 3-80.
Champions Settle remain unbeaten after beating Barnoldswick.
Batting first, Settle scored 227-9, Alex Gould top scoring with 44. Johnny Beech (3-52) and John Beckwith (4-65) were the pick of the bowlers. In reply, Barnoldswick were all out for 149 with Ashir Imdad top scoring with 50.
Padiham secured a third win of the season after beating Oswaldtwislte.
Batting first, Padiham scored 173-7 with Jack Edgar carrying his bat thanks to an unbeaten 91. He received good support from Callum Clarke who made 31.
Oswaldtwistle were reduced to 20-4, when a partnership of 58 between Daniel Hothersall (40) and Phil Howard (18) took the score to 78 before they were all out for 98.
Jack Edgar continued his busy day taking 4-35 with Toby Burrows taking 3-25 in a 75-run win.
Salesbury piled on the runs as they beat bottom of the table Whalley.
Liam Parkinson (74), Peter Richardson (58) and Lewis Pearson (39no) helped them reach 225-6. Declan Bailey took 3-53.
Whalley were bowled out for 89 – Declan Bailey top scoring with 26 while Oliver Wetton took 3-20.
Second-placed Ribblesdale Wanderers posted 245-9 as they won at Baxenden with Ryshon Williams (95) and Mack Spencer (85) both starring with the bat. Aneeq Hassan took 4-61.
Baxenden were bowled out for 186 – Hassan scoring a classy 62 – Ian Britcliffe (4-65) and Safyan Ahmed (3-59) the pick of the bowlers.
