GRIMSBY Town defender Nick Fenton is out for revenge against Accrington Stanley this afternoon.
The 28-year-old centre-back has suffered consecutive 4-1 maulings at the hands of the Reds in the last two seasons and wants to avenge those humiliations in the first of two festive home matches for the Mariners.
Paul Bolland got Grimsby's only goal when the two sides met back in September.
But Fenton preferred to cast his mind back to last season at Blundell Park, when the Mariners ran out 2-0 winners.
He said: "It's massive for us to get three points in this one to set us up for the derby against Lincoln.
"We owe Accrington too because they battered us over there.
"It was embarrassing for us that day and we let the fans down.
"We need to put a big show in today and get a decent result.
"Hopefully, it will be like last year where we got battered away but give them a lesson at Blundell Park.
"It was Martin Paterson and Peter Till's first game when we played them last year and we ran them ragged at times.
"We should have been three of four up maybe at half time.
"Hopefully, we'll get a similar display and win today."
Town go into the game off the back of an away point at Stockport last Saturday, though it could have been more had the Hatters not equalised seven minutes from time.
