Denny Khan is concerned that his young Nelson side won't appreciate the importance of their derby match against Colne at Victoria Park tomorrow.
Khan, who played in several local derbies during his time with Darwen, said he has spent the week pressing home the importance of the match.
He said: "We're looking forward to the derby, but because they are so young, I don't know if they realise what the game is all about.
"I want them to be playing full of passion and, hopefully, I can get them built up for it."
Nelson are currently languishing third from bottom, while Colne are up in eighth.
Khan added: "They are flying high at the minute, but league positions go out of the window when it comes to a derby match."
The home side are without Ed O'Neil.
