WE'VE got to get three points tomorrow. Wigan is only good for two things: pies and rugby!
Their football team is really struggling just now.
I know they've got a new manager in there and the players will be trying to impress him, but it looks, on paper, like a stick-on three points for Rovers, who have done well against them in the past.
I was really surprised when Steve Bruce left Birmingham to join Wigan. There was all that talk about the takeover at St Andrews that was unsettling him, but I think he's got a real job on his hands to save the Latics from relegation.
Since Paul Jewell left the JJB at the end of last season, they've just gone completely downhill.
Chris Hutchings has come and gone and now, chairman Dave Whelan is pinning his hopes on survival on Mark Hughes' old team-mate.
He's said that Bruce will have money to spend in the transfer window, but he'll have to get the right kind of players in who are ready for a scrap or else they're doomed to the Championship.
The way the Premiership has gone in recent years, it's split into three leagues. There's the top four, then a middle league playing for that UEFA Cup spot, and then there's the bottom six or seven clubs who are battling it out to avoid relegation.
And I'm afraid Wigan have fallen into that category.
After last week's disappointing result against West Ham, it's vital Rovers get back to winning ways, and I couldn't think of a better game, except maybe Derby, where they could hope to do that.
The worrying thing is, the defence isn't looking its usual strong self and we are conceding silly goals.
One of the first things Hughes did when he took over at Ewood Park was sort the defence out and he maybe needs to look at that again.
The problem when you're conceding is that it puts extra pressure on the strikers to score, although one who looks to be chomping at the bit right now is Jason Roberts.
There's been more transfer speculation about him this week in the newspapers and I'm sure he'll be dying to get on against his old side
