After the midweek defeat at home to QPR, Burnley are looking to get back to winning way this afternoon against local rivals Preston North End.
And after sampling local derbies north of the border, boss Owen Coyle admitted he couldn't wait for his first Lancashire duel
He said: "As a player I loved derby matches.
"We all realise what they mean to everybody, but the important thing is we get back on track and get the three points available to us.
"And if the players go out with that desire, and that passion, the fans will identify that.
"It's a derby game, Preston will be of the same mind, and they will want to come and win the game for their fans.
"But our fans have been tremendous, we want to give them something back, and a derby win will be a nice little gift for them."
