BURNLEY boss Owen Coyle has revealed any prospective January recruits will have a fight on their hands to get into the current Clarets team.

As Burnley face Preston today, Coyle admitted he is always looking at the strength of his squad.

But after fielding the same side in his first six games in charge at Turf Moor, he said he was more than happy with the effort and commitment from the current crop of players.

However, he refused to rule out any additions when the transfer window opens next month.

He said: "As a manager you're always evaluating and taking stock every day. If you weren't, then you wouldn't be doing your job right.

"You're always thinking, what happens if you get injuries or suspensions' and you have to weigh that up.

"I have to say though, the players have all gone out and played with their heart and they've been fantastic.

"They've done nothing wrong and they'll continue to be selected as long as they keep fighting for the jerseys. If they do that, they'll be in the team week in, week out.

"But you're always looking at how you can help the team on it's way and who could come in. That's something we look at on a daily basis.

"But the lads out there are playing out of their skins just now."

And Coyle admitted, the more wins he can produce as Clarets boss, the easier it will be to entice players to his promotion-chasing side.

He added: "Obviously the higher position we're in, the more attractive we are if we want to bring players."
