JOHN Coleman has revealed Accrington Stanley are in negotiations with Swansea City to try to tie up a permanent deal for playmaker Ian Craney.
The 25-year-old midfielder has made a telling contribution in his loan spell at Stanley, scoring twice in seven appearances and creating several other goals.
But with Craney's loan stint ending in the New Year, the Reds are moving quickly to bring the Liverpudlian back to the Fraser Eagle Stadium in a permanent move.
Craney made over 100 appearances for Accrington in his first spell before completing a £150,000 move to the Swans in January this year, but his time with the League One side has not worked out.
"We are trying to bring Ian here. We are in negotiations with Swansea at the moment," revealed Coleman.
"We are trying to put a package together that will be acceptable to both Swansea and Ian.
"Ian's a good footballer, but he hasn't played a lot of football this year.
"Getting injured was a big blow for him. The more games he plays, the better he'll get and, hopefully, we'll see the best of him over the Christmas period."
