OWEN Coyle's unbeaten start to life with the Clarets continued tonight - but the former St Johnstone manager is still looking for his first home win after another stalemate at Turf Moor.

David Unsworth struck a clinical 19th-minute opener to put Coyle on course for his third win in four games since taking the helm.

But Iain Hume's predatory effort saved new Foxes manager Ian Holloway from a second defeat in four days as Burnley's promotion hopes were dealt a blow.

Proof of the Clarets' pedigree had been provided by victories at high-flying Watford and Charlton during the past week.

But they were made to pay for a series of missed second-half opportunities, with Kyle Lafferty and Andy Gray particularly culpable.

That the main source of Burnley's creativity emanated from the educated feet of Robbie Blake came as no surprise.

His intricate probing was a constant menace to the Foxes backline and his clever pass sent defender Graham Alexander clear down the right flank in the 18th minute.

Alexander slipped in a neat pass to Wade Elliott and his low whipped cross was crying out to be smashed into the net from six yards.

Gray, with 13 goals to his name already this season, contrived to completely mis-kick the ball and Leicester breathed again.

The respite did not last long, however, as a delightful flowing move cut the Foxes to pieces and ultimately led to the opening goal.

Elliott drifted in from the right flank and advanced deep into Leicester territory before finding Chris McCann with a cute pass.

McCann showed outstanding vision to supply Blake - unmarked on left-hand side of the visitors' 18-yard box.

Blake pulled the trigger to round off a brilliant move but his left-foot strike was deflected out for a corner by Alan Maybury's last-ditch intervention.

From the resulting corner, though, Blake's quick thinking led to him collecting possession and reaching the byline before whipping in a low cross which Unsworth dispatched from six yards with a powerful left-foot strike.

It was his first goal since scoring the penalty that kept Wigan in the Barclays Premier League at the expense of Sheffield United on the final day of last season.

Blake threatened a second in the 25th minute after more intricate footwork gave him a shooting chance from 20 yards, but Patrick Kisnorbo made a vital block.

Burnley had an ideal opportunity to extend their lead in the 65th minute when Lafferty crossed from the left and the ball fell to McCann.

He struck it goalwards from six yards but Kisnorbo made another vital block.

Further chances came and were spurned by Lafferty and Gray and Leicester took advantage with 12 minutes remaining.

Richard Stearman's deep cross from the right was not dealt with by the Burnley defence and Hume volleyed home the loose ball from 10 yards to secure the visitors a point they scarcely warranted.
