BURNLEY manager Owen Coyle believes Andy Gray epitomised the whole team's performance in earning a 3-1 win at Charlton Athletic.

The Clarets' leading scorer struck twice to take his tally for the season to 13 so far.

But Coyle praised the all-round role the 30-year-old played in completing back-to-back wins against promotion favourites Watford and the Addicks in the space of four days.

"Having played as a striker, Andy Gray, for me, leads the line so well, and I think he's a player that can contribute to matches without scoring," said the delighted Burnley boss.

"It's even better when he adds goals to his play, but with his work-rate, Andy Gray's individual performance probably summed up the team performance."

Coyle was also delighted with the contribution of Gray's strike partner Robbie Blake, who claimed assists for the first two goals from free kicks into the penalty area.

"I thought the movement was great. It's nice when something comes up from the training ground and it transpires into matches," said the Burnley boss.

"But the movement can be great but will count for nothing if the delivery's not there and I thought Robbie Blake's delivery from the set plays was great, and he was very unfortunate not to score himself from a great ball from Kyle Lafferty. Again that lad ran until he dropped."

Coyle, who has two wins and a draw since taking over at Turf Moor added: "Their sense of spirit and camaraderie was evident for everyone to see.

"Even when they were under pressure they knew the man on his next shoulder was giving everything for him and that augurs well."
