ANDY Gray was at the double to earn Burnley a second win in the capital in the space of four days, maintaining Owen Coyle's unbeaten start as Clarets manager.

The Burnley striker took his tally for the season to 13 courtesy of an early opener and second-half penalty, either side of Chris McCann's free header.

Charlton captain Andy Reid pulled a goal back nine minutes before the break, and Alan Pardew's men maintained that pressure at the start of the second half.

But Burnley, who had been helped into an early 2-0 lead courtesy of Robbie Blake's precise free kicks, which found the head of Gray in the eighth minute, and then McCann five minutes after, resisted Charlton's attempts to draw level.

And their patience and persistence proved to be a virtue as they were awarded a penalty with 20 minutes to go.

Danny Mills was penalised for handling the ball in the box, under pressure from Kyle Lafferty as the duo competed for a high ball, and Gray confidently stroked the spot kick beyond Nicky Weaver to seal another away win, four days after toppling leaders Watford at Vicarage Road.
