BURNLEY are on course for a second consecutive win in the capital, after goals from Andy Gray and Chris McCann gave the Clarets a 2-1 half-time lead against Charlton Athletic.
Gray struck early, heading in his 12th of the season in the eighth minute, before McCann added a second in similar circumstances five minutes later.
After setting up Joey Gudjonsson's decisive second goal at Watford on Tuesday night, Robbie Blake claimed assists for both goals from free kicks, after being fouled on both occasions.
The first was clipped towards the near post from five yards otside the left corner of the box, where Gray flicked a backwards header beyond Nicky Weaver.
McCann then found himself totally unmarked to get his head to a similar set piece , leaving Weaver with no chance.
Burnley had numerous other chances to add to their lead, with Blake himself going close with another free kick, and later from close range.
And the Clarets will hope they don't live to regret capitalising on their early first-half dominance after Charlton captain Andy Reid pulled a goal back nine minutes before the break.
