CHARLTON Athletic manager Alan Pardew says Burnley should not expect to benefit from his side's dip in confidence.

Although the Addicks were comfortably beaten at home to Sheffield United in midweek, with former Burnley loanee Gary Cahill among the scorers in a 3-0 win, Pardew (pictured) believes his players are ready to bounce back.

"It was a disappointing night on Tuesday, but I don't think that's a problem in terms of confidence for Saturday. We just have to wash it away quickly," said the Charlton manager.

"We're in decent shape for the game and the league table might be looking prettier (tomorrow) night than in midweek."

Before the visit of the Blades on Tuesday night, Charlton had earned four successive wins and four clean sheets.

However, their home form is giving cause for concern with just one win from their last four home games.

A 2-1 loss to Plymouth ended their unbeaten home run on October 23.

And that proved to be a catalyst as they went down 1-0 to QPR four days later, while a 3-0 win over Cardiff was sandwiched between that and the Sheffield United defeat.
