BLACKBURN ROVERS midfielder Brett Emerton has admitted he needs to become more clinical in the final third of the pitch.
The Australian international was on target in Sunday's 2-2 draw at Fulham, but that second half strike at Craven Cottage was his first in more than two years in a Rovers shirt.
"I should definitely get more goals than I currently do," conceded Emerton.
"Obviously, playing at right back, my first responsibility is to stop the goals from going in, rather than scoring at the other end.
"I've also contributed quite a few assists over the last season or two, but I haven't managed to get on the scoresheet regularly enough, so it was nice to grab a goal (on Sunday) and hopefully there's more to come."
Before Sunday's strike, Emerton's last goal for Rovers came in a 4-1 win against Charlton in November 2005.
