Burnley boss Owen Coyle has revealed he is aiming to appoint an assistant manager early this week, with Sandy Stewart - his number two at St Johnstone - believed to be his favoured target.
Stewart took caretaker charge of St Johnstone's Challenge Cup Final clash with Scottish First Division rivals Dunfermline yesterday.
"I don't want anything to detract from St Johnstone's cup final - that would be wrong to do that, but we'll see what the start of the week brings," Coyle said after Burnley's 0-0 draw with Stoke City on Saturday.
"Steve Davis is my first team coach and I leaned on him heavily today.
"He's got a big, big role to play at this football club.
"We get on like a house on fire, and that's important.
"I'm delighted with the staff I've got here, Phil Hughes and Pash and everyone that's here - they've made me very welcome and they're obviously very knowledgeable, and that helps.
"We spoke about it, we want this to be everybody singing from the same hymn sheet.
"It's so important that we're all in this together and the lads have shown that, and I thank them for their help prior to this game and during it."
