Personally, I'm very sorry to see Steve Cotterill go.
When he first came to Burnley, it was a breath of fresh air to have a young ambitious manager. He was a guy in demand.
I had a lot of time for him and because I work at Turf Moor on the commercial side, I would regularly bump into him and we'd have a pint or two from time to time.
He's a terrific guy, but unfortunately managers survive or die by results and the results just weren't coming.
The chairman and directors have a duty to the supporters.
They have got to be seen to be doing something to keep their faith in the club.
It's such a shame, because earlier this season, we were looking at the top six and there seemed to be a good chance of promotion.
That's all gone out of the window now. We will have to write promotion off for this season.
The more pressing concern is making sure we avoid the drop.
The feeling - right throughout the club - is that there has been a spark missing over the last few weeks.
We need that back - and quick.
