A 5.20pm kick-off on a Saturday afternoon would have been unheard of in my day, and if it had happened I'm not sure any of the lads would have turned up.
But it's the way of the footballing world with television networks ploughing so much money into the game and calling the shots.
And while receiving that money is all well and good for the club's coffers, it's bound to have an adverse affect on the Turf Moor crowd.
The chances of Southampton fans travelling in great numbers are unlikely, with it being televised and at such an awkward kick-off time, and I fear the Clarets will be lucky to get 10,000 on tomorrow.
But hopefully the ones that do turn up will be entertained.
I was disappointed with the way the team, as a whole, relaxed after getting off to such a fantastic start in the week.
It was a great result to get the three points but the fact that Norwich might have snatched a point at the end was frustrating having taken a 2-0 lead so early. I agreed with Steve Cotterill's comments that a 2-0 lead is the most difficult to defend because the third goal in the game is crucial. And if Burnley get to that position again they really have to go for the throat.
Chances were still created after that, and I teased Kyle Lafferty when he collected his sponsors' man of the match award about missing that sitter in the second half. But, although Andy Gray is on nine goals already, I still think the team is missing a natural goalscorer.
The front men are getting plenty of supply from the wide men but they have to work harder at sticking the ball in the back of the net.
They need to be more clinical in the box and put a bigger percentage of chances away. Gray might be on the brink of double figures so early into the season, but I believe he would have surpassed that total had that been the case.
Southampton come to Burnley in hit-and-miss form and will be smarting from their 2-1 defeat at Bristol City the other night.
It should be an interesting game for the cameras, with Burnley unbeaten at home still and the Saints in such close proximity to the Clarets in the Championship table.
Let's hope that by 8pm tomorrow we can go for a pint in high spirits.
