IT was a bright sunny day at Glossop, but the difficult pitch conditions resulted in the game being played with the ball up in the air.
Andy Howarth and Kieron Roberts worked tirelessly for Colne, with Dave Young doing most of the prompting for Glossop.
Kevin Urwin came closest for Colne early on, but his cross from the right dipped over.
The visitors opened the scoring on 50 minutes when Michael Rosser was first to react after the Glossop defence failed to clear Steve Cunningham's well delivered corner.
And they almost added a second on 60 minutes, but Urwin shot wide.
However, eight minutes later Glossop equalised when Kelvin Lugsden drilled in a vicious cross and the ball rebounded into the net off the retreating Kevin Richardson.
The goal breathed new life into Glossop for the last quarter of an hour and Colne had Mark Crossley to thank for keeping the scores level.
In the final minutes Colne almost snatched victory through Urwin, but his effort was smothered at the foot of the post.
