ROVERS striker Roque Santa Cruz says he's flattered that his partnership with Benni McCarthy has been compared to the SAS - Shearer and Sutton.

But the Paraguayan hitman, who got his sixth of the season in the 4-2 win over Reading, says the club have to win something to even be mentioned in the same breath.

He said: "I have read a little bit about Sutton and Shearer. It is nice to be compared to them.

"Shearer in particular is a great player and I used to like him very much. It is great to be compared to that sort of Premiership player.

"But it is no good talking about being like them until we have won a cup or something. Everybody wants to win something this year if possible.

"Fans remember the players who win trophies, not just score lots of goals. And we know the Premier League is the most important one.

"Everything is possible in football if the determination is big enough in the team.

"Of course there are great teams in the Premier League but a lot of the time it is about mentality and our team is willing to give it a try.

"We will do everything we can to make it happen.

"It is hard and tough even to qualify for the Champions League this year.

"We will keep enjoying our football, playing the way we have been playing, and see how far we can go."
