PIERO Mingoia has signed for Boreham Wood after leaving Accrington Stanley.
The 27-year-old departed after having his Reds contract cancelled by mutual consent last week having finished last season on loan at Morecambe.
Mingoia made 155 appearances for Stanley across his three spells at the Wham Stadium, with the 27-year-old also contributing with 15 goals and 13 assists. He has now returned to a club where he played nine times on loan from Watford back in 2013.
“I’m very excited to be back at Boreham Wood” Mingoia said on signing for the National League club.
“After speaking to the people at the club, I was sold in terms of what they are aiming to achieve and hopefully I can contribute in a big way. It’s an ambitious club and that was important to me going somewhere where people push their standards as high as possible.
“I like to work hard and get on the ball as much as possible, try and enjoy myself, create some goals as well as score them too.
His new manager Luke Garrard said: “We obviously know Piero as a player and a person from his time at the club a few years ago. We’ve seen him grow as an individual and he’s gone and had a superb career in the Football League.
“We’ve got ourselves a very talented individual that can create and score goals and we knew that was something we had to improve upon from last season. Piero will no doubt aid and contribute to the group.”
