Maceo Rigters has admitted he's been surprised by the reaction over comments he made regarding a loan move.
Last week, the Dutch Under-21 star was quoted as saying if he didn't break into the first team soon, he would want a loan move away to allow him to play.
Hull City had been rumoured in taking the former NAC Breda man but that was refuted by Tigers boss Phil Brown.
But Rigters hit back at the claims.
He said: "Did I say that? No, I never said such a thing.
"I am happy to stay here and fight for my chance.
"Regarding my development, we'll see how it goes, but I am not thinking about leaving.
"Manager Mark Hughes has said he has faith in me and I could possibly be in the squad for this weekend's game."
