BLACKBURN marched confidently into the third round of the EDF Senior Vase with a clear win over a committed Anselmians side.
The visitors did the damage in a high quality opening 25 minutes by which time they had raced into an 18-3 lead thanks to tries by Richard Maudsley and Marco Vaghetti plus a conversion and two penalties by skipper Bleasdale.
Blackburn then added a superb length of the pitch third try finished off by full back Nick Barnes after great turnover work by debutant Luke Copping and some sharp work from Bleasdale.
Bleasdale's conversion put Blackburn 25-3 up at break and fully in command.
The second half was a lot more even but Burn stretched their lead with converted Bleasdale try.
However, some pressure by the home team brought them back into the game at 32-17, which became 32-20 with two Burn players harshly sinbinned.
But the visitors regathered their composure and another Bleasdale try, conversion and penalty made it safe and gave the score board a more emphatic look.
Team Manager Richard Crayston was pleased withthe result.
He said: "We made some changes today to give some players a chance to start and I thought they all put their hand up and gave us a nudge about their abilities.
"I think selection this week will be a difficult process as we have lots of competition for places and lots of guys playing well."
Chairman of Rugby Gareth Dyer added: "We have two very difficult games coming up. I have a lot of respect for Wigton and their coach Malcolm Brown and it's a very difficult place to go.
"I'm expecting a very severe test of our ability come next Saturday, but we are playing well and confident we can give Wigton a tough game."
