MATT Derbyshire scored the only goal of the game as England Under-21s maintained their perfect start to their European 2009 qualifying campaign last night.
The Blackburn Rovers striker coolly slotted home in the 20th minute against Montenegro, his fourth in eight games for his country.
It was a poor display by England at Leicester's Walker Stadium against one of Group Three's weaker teams.
Stephen Taylor hit the past and Manchester Ciy's Nedum Onuhoa headed against the bar.
And Stuart Pearce's men should have had a penalty when Aleksander Radovic handled the ball on the line.
But Derbyshire found the net after James Milner's superb pass - and that proved to be enough.
