SAM Vokes has completed his deadline deal to Stoke City from Burnley.
The striker, who made more than 250 appearances for the Clarets during his seven-year stay at Turf Moor, has signed a three-and-a-half year deal at the Bet 365 Stadium.
The fee is believed to be in the region of £7m with Wolves set for a 25 per cent sell on of any profit on the £350,000 deal which took the Wales international to East Lancashire in 2012.
The Clarets have moved to replace Vokes by adding Peter Crouch on a deal until the end of the season from Stoke.
Vokes has found starts hard to come by this season but has managed 30 appearances in all competitions, scoring five times.
And Stoke boss Nathan Jones believes the 29-year-old will be an astute signing.
He said: “Sam is a player of real pedigree, he has been promoted from this level and he’s an experienced international and Premier League player.
“To get it done is something totally different to anything we have and we think he’s a marquee player for this level."
