BURNLEY have completed the signing of Peter Crouch from Stoke City on a deal until the end of the season.
The frontman joins on a free transfer and fills the gap in the Clarets squad created by Sam Vokes who has moved to the Potters for a fee in the region of £7m.
Crouch, who turned 38 this week, has a wealth of top flight experience and Clarets boss Sean Dyche believes the frontman still has a lot to offer.
“What interests me is motivated players. Michael Duff was one of those for us at 37 and I think Peter Crouch is the same,” said Dyche.
“There’s no issue about his fitness and I think he has an intention and a desire to still make a mark in football.
“We know what a good character he is and he still has that edge. We know he’s an effective footballer and he has a hunger to come here and make a mark.”
