Joe HART 7

Grateful to Lowton for a goalline clearance and saved well from Gray but otherwise not overly tested

Matt LOWTON 7

Denied Vardy with his first-half goalline intervention, but balls into box and generally helped in the recovery from three heavy losses

Kevin LONG 7

In for the injured Tarkowski and played his part in a clean sheet with challenge in the box on Vardy in second half

Ben MEE (MOM) 8

Clarets captain led by example, setting the defensive tone from the off with clearances and interceptions, which helped to ease Burnley in to a difficult game and unusual circumstances. Fully deserved the clean sheet

Charlie TAYLOR 7

Got better as the game wore on after getting caught out by a couple of early overlaps and lessened Albrighton’s impact

Aaron LENNON 6

Really caught the eye at times and frustrated at others, in attack, but played a role against the ball giving back-up to Taylor

Steven DEFOUR 7

Worrying that the midfielder went off after straining his knee making a challenge, but showed his commitment to cause

Jack CORK 7

Dependable in midfield on his return from injury. Delightful interplay with Robbie Brady in the second half set up a good chance for Wood

Johann Berg GUDMUNDSSON 7

Had arguably Burnley’s best chance with a free kick that brought a save from Schmeichel

Sam VOKES 7

Not much in the way of chances but looked more comfortable as Burnley returned to a two-pronged attack

Chris WOOD 6

Striker was rewarded for his goal at West Ham and got into good areas but couldn’t get the right connection to give Schmeichel a greater test
