Steve McClaren believes Rovers’ ‘interesting’ style will prove to be one of QPR’s toughest tests of the season.

Rangers have won four of their last five matches to move up to 10th in the table, a position which looked a long way off after losing their opening four matches, shipping 13 goals.

McClaren says he can see similarities between his side and Rovers who he was impressed by in their victory over Leeds United last weekend.

“I have to say I think this game at Blackburn will be one of our toughest of the season,” the boss told his club’s website ahead of tomorrow's game.

“They have kept the team together and enjoyed a good start.

“They play in an interesting way which is hard to play against.

“I saw their game against Leeds when they won and they were very good.

“I saw them against Derby and they deserved something there.

“They are a tough team to play against, they are very organised and I can see a bit of us in what they are trying to do.”

While the Rs are in good form ahead of tomorrow's trip to Ewood Park, McClaren knows they need to make hay while the sun shines.

A run of four clean sheets in five matches, including a 1-0 win over Aston Villa last week, has been key to their turnaround in fortunes.

And McClaren added: “There are different spells within a Championship where you do get it together and gather momentum.

“It’s never clear how long that will last, you have to try and ride the wave as long as possible knowing that you are going to fall off.

“How you react when you fall off is vital but most importantly for us, it’s trying to ride the wave and keep riding it.

“That’s what we are trying to achieve and we have to keep going as long as possible.”
