Paul Caddis is training with League One strugglers Bradford City after leaving Rovers in August.

Caddis ended his time at Ewood Park a year early and has been looking for a new club ever since.

The 30-year-old made one appearance for Rovers this season, in the Carabao Cup win over Lincoln City, before leaving via mutual consent.

The full back made 13 starts in League One last season as Rovers clinched promotion back to the Championship, the last of those coming in the penultimate game at Charlton Athletic.

Caddis will train with the Bantams this week, with David Hopkin’s side currently without full backs Kelvin Mellor and Joe Riley who are both injured.

Boss David Hopkin told the Bradford Telegraph & Argus: “Paul came in (on Monday) and we'll see how things transpire over the week.

“We need an option because obviously Kelvin's going to be out for a while and Joe Riley is out for three to four weeks.

“Paul came play a number of positions and having a couple of utility players is what we've been lacking.”

Caddis left Rovers on the same day as midfielder Peter Whittingham.

The 33-year-old former Cardiff City man played 21 times last season, but featured for just 30 minutes this term before ending his time at Ewood Park with a year still to run on his contract.

Clubs are able to sign free agents outside of the transfer window, so both will be hoping to get themselves fixed up in the near future.
