Rovers reporter Rich Sharpe hands out his player ratings after the win over Leeds United at Ewood Park.
David Raya 8
Some excellent handling under pressure, including a late save. Standout moment was an 88th minute fingertip stop to keep out a dipping Klich effort.
Elliott Bennett 8
Involved in an ongoing battle with Alioski from the first minute. Made some excellent sliding challenges when Leeds tried to break in behind.
Darragh Lenihan 8
Headed in his first of the season at one end, and won countless more at the other end to keep Leeds at bay.
Charlie Mulgrew 8
A boost for Rovers when passed fit as he helped marshal the backline towards three valuable points.
Amari’i Bell 7
Caught under the crosffield ball at times, with the Leeds equaliser coming down his side. A few runs of promise in the first half.
Richie Smallwood 7
Spent much of the afternoon trying to keep a close eye on Saiz. Taken off just after being booked.
Corry Evans 8
Intercepted, harried, hassled, but also showed good composure in possession to help Rovers move up the pitch.
Harrison Reed 8
An excellent opening saw his corner headed in by Graham. His influence faded in the second half after a knock, which eventually forced him off.
Bradley Dack 7
Denied by a sprawling Peacock-Farrell save early on, with plenty of unselfish running for the team thereafter as he finished as the central striker.
Adam Armstrong 9 (MAN OF THE MATCH)
Gave Rovers an outlet on the left as continually had the beating of Berardi. Saw three shots blocked before curling an effort on to the roof of the net. Drew a fine save out of Peacock-Farrell in the second half after another excellent break.
Danny Graham 8
Got his head on Reed’s corner to put Rovers in front, and held off Cooper well throughout to bring others in to place. A sore back forced him off.
Subs
Jack Rodwell (for Smallwood, 57) 7
Two thundering challenges, one well timed, the other, which earned him a booking not so much. Did his part in seeing the game out.
Ben Brereton (for Graham, 61) 7
His ability to run with the ball proved to be a useful asset to Rovers. Used in a wide area after being sent on.
Craig Conway (for Reed, 68) 7
His first touch was to deliver the corner from which Lenihan scored. His workrate in the central area was high and helped shut down space.
Unused subs: Jayson Leutwiler, Derrick Williams, Joe Rothwell, Kasey Palmer
Leeds: Peacock-Farrell, Berardi (Shackleton, 85), Cooper, Jansson, Dallas (Clarke, 75), Alioski, Phillips, Klich, Saiz, Roofe (Hernandez, 70), Roberts
Subs: Blackman, Forshaw, Pearce, Baker
