JON Harvey is hoping to make a decision on his new club soon after deciding to stand down as Burnley professional at the end of the season.

The 37-year-old, who has a young family, is calling it a day at Turf Moor for personal reasons and has already said that offers from Ribblesdale League clubs have already come his way.

"The decision has got nothing to do with Burnley," said Harvey, who steered the club to the Lancashire League title last year.

"It's down to the days the games are played on. I wanted more time on Sunday's and we play most of our fixtures on Sunday's. But it was not an easy decision to make.

"I've said all along it's been a honour for me to get back to Burnley as a professional."

Harvey added: "I want to be playing for a few more years yet. I have had a couple of offers from the Ribblesdale League so I will still be pro-ing.

"I will play for as long as my fitness and form will allow me. I don't want to give up quite yet."

Burnley host East Lancs tomorrow and Harvey said: "A top five finish is what we are looking at if we can finish off the season with two good results."

Rishton could wrap up the title today if they gain four points. If not, they play second-placed Rawtenstall tomorrow.

The winners of the trophy will not have it presented until Sunday after the game, the league committee have confirmed.

Tomorrow's games: Accrington v Ramsbottom; Bacup v Enfield; Haslingden v Burnley; Lowerhouse v Church; Nelson v East Lancs; Rishton v Rawtenstall; Todmorden v Colne.
