AT the moment, the League Two table doesn't make happy reading for Stanley fans.

John Coleman's side are rock bottom of the Football League with just three points from their first four games.

But the Reds boss isn't worried. A win could see them rocket into mid-table as Stanley welcome Grimsby to the Fraser Eagle Stadium.

And Coleman is confident his side will begin to climb the league table after a sticky start to the campaign.

He said: "I have never been one for looking at league tables after five or six games.

"We could have been top and people would have been going bananas about us and all of a sudden you fall like a stone.

"You can climb as quickly as you fall in the early part of the season because there's probably six points separating the whole league, so if we can get a couple of wins in the next few games then we might have a true reflection of where we stand in the table."

The Fraser Eagle Stadium was a happy hunting ground for Stanley last season as they racked up 10 wins and seven draws on their home patch.

And Coleman was adamant that his side need to make their home gound a fortress again.

He said: "You get that back by getting back-to-back wins.

"We need to win this game and then win our next home game against Mansfield.

"You get a couple of wins and the weather starts to get a bit colder and then it's not a very inviting place to come to.

"You can sow seeds of doubt in people's minds before they arrive and that's hopefully what we can do."

Stanley are still reeling from their shock of losing their Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie against Oldham on tuesday night.

Stanley were cruising after goals from Roscoe Dsane and a penalty from Andy Procter put them 2-0 up. But the Latics staged a remarkable second- half fightback to book their place in the second round.

But Coleman admitted he was pleased with how the players had responded after ordering them in for an extra day's training.

"We are going to work harder to try and get it right and if they are prepared to give up their day off it shows they have got a good attitude towards work and we're determined to get things right.

"We've been on a bit of a bad run in the last five games, but it's better to be on that at the start of the season than at the business end."

The one high point of Tuesday's game was the performace of Dsane.

The former AFC Wimbeldon man scored on his full debut and won the penalty against the Latics.

And Coleman added: "I think people will be thinking Why hasn't he been playing more this season?' but it's just down to his fitness.

"He's come from part-time football and I think full-time football has maybe taken its toll on him a little bit over pre-season training.

"But now he's starting to settle in and his body's getting used to training. He's certainly getting fitter and he did play well the other night and there's more to come from Roscoe."
