Paul Gallagher, who made the deadline day loan move from Blackburn Rovers to Preston North End until January, believes his new team-mates have what it takes to recover from their dreadful start to the season.

Paul Simpson's side suffered late heartache in their televised match against Coventry on Saturday, leaving them second-bottom of the Championship and still searching for their first win of the season.

But 23-year-old Gallagher, who who came on as a sub against the Sky Blues, was confident things would turn around soon.

He said: "It's never easy coming straight in like this," he said.

"But the lads have made me very welcome and I think I have settled in already.

"I knew one or two before I arrived - I have seen them around.

"I live just up the road from Deepdale, so it's nice and local for me.

"But what immediately struck me is they are a good bunch of lads who are willing to work hard and try and get results.

"I'm sure, from what I have seen in such a short time here, that it is only a matter of time before we start winning games."
