BLACKBURN Hawks got off to the best possible start in their English National Ice Hockey League season.
Hawks earned maximum points from the opening weekend, beating Lancashire Raptors 4-0 and 9-1 - two impressive results, which were in no small part down to netminders Danny Brittle and Jon Gould.
Brittle earned Man of the Match' for his shutout in Saturday's win, while new signing Gould was unlucky to concede late on Sunday.
Richard Bentham, who scored the opening goal of the weekend, also claimed two assists at the Arena on Saturday, followed by a brace away on Sunday.
Chad Briggs netted his first senior goal for the Hawks in the weekend's opening fixture, whilst Jackson Hall followed suit with his first two Hawks strikes on the Sunday.
