PADIHAM totally dominated their VODKAT North West Counties Division Two home match against Holker Old Boys at the Arbories, but had to settle for a 1-0 win, despite all their possession.
Visiting keeper, Sam Stephens, was the hero for Holker as he kept the Storks strikers at bay almost single-handedly in the first half.
Repeatedly he pulled off saves to thwart Vinnie Braine, Andy Haworth and Gareth Baker.
In the second half, Padiham eventually broke the deadlock on 65 minutes when a 25-yard Barry Shuttleworth screamer put the Storks in front.
Stephens saved an 80th minute Paul Fildes penalty and, five minutes later, Fildes has a shot deflected onto the Holker crossbar top conclude a frustrating afternoon for Padiham.
