Burnley manager Steve Cotterill, who has ended his long search for a specialist right back with the capture of 35-year-old Alexander, hopes to make another signing before the transfer window closes at midnight tonight.
However, he admitted a move for that target may not be governed by a time restriction as out-of-contract players or loan signings will still be available after the window closes.
"I've been working on something else this morning (Thursday) that I was hoping may happen today, and I'm still unsure about that one, but we may not be restricted to the transfer window on that one," said Cotterill.
