Mark Hughes was delighted to see Blackburn Rovers book a place in today's draw for the first round proper of the UEFA Cup after they beat MyPA 3-0 on aggregate.

And the Rovers boss believes his players have no reason to fear anyone in this year's competition as they look to improve on last season's march to the last 32.

"I think we've certainly learnt from the experience last year, and it was an experience that we enjoyed," said Hughes.

"We hope that will help us this year, however far we progress.

"We are very hopeful of getting into the group stages once again and we'll see what happens from there.

"It's a difficult competition with the quality of the sides this year.

"If you look at the teams that get knocked out of the Champions League and drop into this competition, there's some top, top European sides.

"But we view ourselves as a top Premiership side, and we are a team that can compete in one of the top leagues in Europe, so we shouldn't be fazed by anyone."
