BLACKBURN Rovers have qualified for the First Round of the UEFA Cup after beating Finnish outfit MyPa-47 2-0 at Ewood Park - to seal a 3-0 aggregate win.

David Bentley sent Rovers into the lead on 48 minutes with a superb volley, a timely strike for the winger as England boss Steve McClaren is set to announce his squad for crucial Euro 2008 qualifiers against Israel and Russia.

Rovers dominated MyPa and grabbed an injury-time second through a clever back-heel from striker Jason Roberts.

Blackburn went into the match aiming to extend their unbeaten run to 13 matches, stretching back to last season.

Holding a 1-0 lead from the first leg, Mark Hughes' men came close to doubling their aggregate advantage in the 11th minute.

Tugay slipped a clever ball through to Brett Emerton who played it across the area for Jason Roberts.

Roberts was perfectly positioned at the far post but from close range sent his effort wide of the target.

Rovers kept up the pressure and, two minutes later, Aaron Mokoena rattled in a shot from the edge of the area.

It was spilled by MyPa goalkeeper Janne Korhonen but he recovered in time to prevent Maceo Rigters, making his full Rovers debut, taking advantage.

Bentley almost made the breakthrough in the 31st minute when Tugay played a short free-kick to him.

But his 25-yard drive went marginally past the post.

That effort brought chants of Bentley for England' from the home fans.

And after the interval, on 48 minutes, the winger eventually grabbed his goal.

It was a stunning strike as well, a left-foot volley from Pedersen's cross that thundered into the net.

Bentley came close to getting a second in the 60th minute when his superbly-weighted free-kick drifted just over the crossbar.

Blackburn looked comfortable in front of a crowd of 13,490 although Brad Friedel did well to parry a shot from Tuomas Kuparinen in the 67th minute.

And they wrapped up proceedings in stoppage-time.

Roberts got his reward for his hard work by extending Blackburn's lead with a clever backheel after substitute Matt Derbyshire had headed the ball on.
